Against Existentialism (cont')
A short, tongue-in-cheek dismissal of existentialism en masse.

It is no accident that as the mind is impaired by intoxication or exhaustion that the verb of existence takes on an importance that it does not usually enjoy.
As the drunk or over-tired person marvels that we are a certain way or that a certain thing is true, he reveals the fundamental error of existentialism, of the notion that existence is a collection of data to be understood and interpreted: the mind, as it loses consciousness, the very singular manifestation of the will and agency that constitute the mind, lapses into a default state that might correctly be called 'rarefied' existentialism.
Existentialism is seen in moments of cerebral duress for what it is; man's retreat into his lizard-brain.
'Meet me in the hypothalamus,' the existentialist implores as he takes leave of his intellect.
'It's the place to be.'
