The Post-Kaelian Critical Elite
I reflect briefly on some wise words from Chino Moreno on the eve of my first day of graduate school.

As Chino Moreno, singer of critical darlings Deftones, offered to Chicago music Charlatan Jim Derogatis once, it's pretty much the same party every place you go. It's funny; when the genuine article (Moreno) rubs up against a flamboyant deceiver like Derogatis, it's not uncommon for previously ineffable truths to emerge from hiding. It pretty much is the same party every place you go.
Tomorrow is the first day of class. I've got Old Testament at 9:30 and Roman Catholic Ecclesiology shortly thereafter. Cross your fingers for me if you number yourself among the virtuous unbaptized or the righteous unborn.
