Materia Medica
Last night's bad hangover in the making plays itself out: Stanley Fish and the state of modern medicine are discussed.

Don't take my word for it--scroll down to yesterday's update and see for yourself how utterly and disgracefully drunk I was last night. In honor of that (and indeed, because of that) I've got some exciting medical news.
It's a little-known fact to most of the members of today's medical community, but enough alcohol in the brain pan will 'float' the brain in the skull (for a quick analogue, imagine a fetus suspended in uterine goo).
Well, as luck would have it, distemp'ring draughts set my brain afloat within my skull this morning and, while 'old three cell' was banging around in there I think I may have done some permanent damage to him. If you're interested in biology, the study of incomplete metaphors and poetic naming, you might click here to learn more.
In other news, I've begun preparations for my imminent battle with Stanley Fish. Tomorrow, the battle begins anew. By Tuesday, we'll see if I'm still bobbing and weaving or if UIC's former dean of LAS has sent me spinning to the canvas like Little Mac.
Confused? Tune in tomorrow to see if my brain has healed.
