I absolutely mean it when I call this novel 'required' reading: works like this are the reason that I even have a five star rating.
I went into it cold, with no concept of what to expect from the novel and only a vague sense of who Alan Moore was or what he was capable of doing. Before 100 pages, I was completely convinced that I was not only in the presence of genius, but I was dumbfounded--genuinely confused--that Moore somehow managed to escape my notice for a quarter century.
Please read this book.
