Full disclosure: I never saw the theatrical release of this movie. Rather, I did not pass "GO" and advanced directly to the director's cut which, I am told, is a much better movie. That disclosure having been made, there is little else to say about Ben Stiller's finest hour as a satirist and a director of actors. This movie is the most circumspect send-up of Hollywood prestige pictures in general and war flicks in particular that you'll ever see and easily in the running for funniest movie ever made. Add to those facts the virtuoso performances of the elite, hand-picked ensemble of actors who bring it to life and there's really not a whole lot of room for mincing words: Tropic Thunder is very possibly the funniest movie ever made.
